This week we are thrilled to be joined by none other than seven-time titleholder Jonathan Noble!
Hailing from the UK, Jonathan currently works as the Cloud Operations Manager at Sage. Here, he leads a transatlantic team of engineers responsible for the availability, performance, and security of mid-market products in Azure using practices from DevOps and SRE playbooks.
Jonathan has been a full-time IT professional for almost two decades, working with computers since his primary teachers used to ask for his help with BBC Micro computers in their classrooms.
Before joining Sage, Jonathan spent 17 years in the IT department at Newcastle University in North East England, with tens of thousands of user accounts, thousands of desktops and hundreds of servers to manage (in Newcastle and branch campuses in London, Malaysia and Singapore), Jonathan was an early advocate of both PowerShell automation and DevOps practices.
As a general technology enthusiast, Jonathan covers a broad range of technical areas, having run the NEBytes user group for all Microsoft technologies for several years. He's also deeply embedded in social media, having been a member of a small start-up that formed on Twitter and produced a Twitter app in just a few short weeks.
As a regular collaborator with the UK TechNet team, Jonathan was included in the Microsoft TechNet UK IT Pro New Year’s Honours List 2015.
