Well, we’re glad you asked.

Build skills for your project

Check out our helpful training course that will guide you in developing a great project. You can go at your own pace to learn about all the steps necessary for success—not just for the Imagine Cup, but for Hackathons, other projects, and even your future career.

Specifically, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build a great team
  • Brainstorm and develop winning project ideas
  • Develop a prototype
  • Integrate Azure into your project
  • Create a successful pitch
  • Take your project to the next level after the competition

Take advantage of ongoing opportunities for collaboration

Throughout the competition, you’ll have access to a community of students, mentors, tech professionals, and more on Discord where you can chat, brainstorm, and collaborate at every stage of the process. Join the Discord community by navigating to your Imagine Cup account page.

Get even more guidance from Microsoft experts

If you didn’t get a chance to attend Build Your Epic, our 2022 Imagine Cup kick-off event, it’s now available on demand!  You’ll hear directly from Microsoft leaders how to build a great team and how to research, design, create, and present the best project for the competition.

Utilize these always-available resources

In addition to all of the above, we offer many other resources for building your skills either in preparation for the Imagine Cup or in general.  If you need help coming up with an idea for the competition, take a look at the 2022 Imagine Cup Microsoft Learn modules.  They’ve been curated specifically with our 4 competition categories in mind to help you generate a winning idea.  Other great places to level up your capabilities include:

Put it all together and start ideating for the Online Semifinals

Apply all the guidance and training you’ve received to prepare your project for the Online Semifinals (or in a National Final, if applicable in your country).  Submit your project proposal and a 3 minute presentation video by the deadline listed on your account page! You could be selected as one of 48 teams to move on to the World Finals and be awarded a USD1,000 Azure grant along with mentorship from a Microsoft employee.
