Welcome to our monthly blog series featuring the latest content updates on Microsoft Learn. This month, we’re highlighting recent updates to our Microsoft 365 Fundamentals Exam and the required prerequisite exams that you need to complete your Modern Desktop Administrator Associate certification.
Exam MS-900: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
Our product team completed efforts to reflect recent rebrands to select products that are in the scope of this exam. The changes are highlighted below:
- Windows Virtual Desktop is now Azure Virtual Desktop
- Workplace Analytics is now Viva Insights
- Cloud App Security is now Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Microsoft 365 Security Center is now Microsoft 365 Defender portal
Exam MS-900 is designed for candidates looking to demonstrate foundational-level knowledge of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to facilitate productivity on-site, at home, or a combination of both. Candidates may have experience with cloud-based solutions or may be new to Microsoft 365. The exam can be used to prepare for other Microsoft 365 certifications, but it is not a prerequisite for any of the related certifications.
You can prepare for Exam MS-900 using these four learning paths:
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft 365 productivity and teamwork capabilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft 365 business management capabilities
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft 365 licensing, service, and support
